  • Uphold health and safety standards as a competent person under Edenderry Safety Rules, overseeing environmental licence compliance and maintaining the site's Environmental Protection Licence (EPL).
  • Manage site security, property access, and act as first responder during emergencies.
  • Operate assets in line with System Operator instructions and Integrated Single Electricity Market (I-SEM) rules to optimize commercial outcomes.
  • Handle delivery intake, perform materials sampling, and arrange sample submissions to laboratories.
  • Perform fault detection and recording within maintenance management systems; assist with maintenance and repair during outages or breakdowns.
  • Contribute actively to Plant Business Management System implementation and participate in overall plant management and staff development.
  • Maintain effective communication with plant owners, stakeholders, regulatory authorities, suppliers, and contractors; coordinate with electricity supply authorities on outages and supply reliability.
  • Abide by all company health, safety, and welfare policies to protect employees and the public.
  • Engage actively in Performance Management processes to achieve both personal and team objectives.

Candidate Profile

  • Possession of an electrical, mechanical, or automation craft qualification, preferably with some power plant or process experience.
  • Prior experience is advantageous but not mandatory as comprehensive training will be offered.
  • Proven ability to link daily operational activities to strategic goals and foster effective two-way communication internally and externally.
  • Professional certifications or memberships demonstrating suitability for the role are valued.
  • Familiarity with electrical, mechanical, or automation systems is preferred.
  • Experience or awareness of electricity industry policies and regulations is desirable but not essential.
