Mechanical Maintenance Engineer

Overview

We are recruiting a dedicated Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join our manufacturing maintenance team at the Vemagal Industrial Area near Kolar. This position requires a practical and proactive professional to maximize equipment uptime and ensure continuous efficiency of the production line through preventive and rapid corrective actions.

Primary Responsibilities

• Plan and execute scheduled preventive maintenance to reduce unexpected equipment downtime.
• Quickly diagnose and repair mechanical issues in heavy machinery including hydraulic and pneumatic presses.
• Perform root cause analyses on recurrent failures to develop lasting corrective solutions.
• Maintain expertise in hydraulic systems, pneumatic circuits, pumps, compressors, conveyors, and mechanical transmission components such as gears, bearings, and belts.
• Supervise maintenance of critical plant utilities including air compressors, cooling towers, and DM plants.
• Follow stringent safety guidelines, enforce 5S methodologies, and ensure the use of Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures during all maintenance actions.
• Keep precise daily maintenance records, shift handover notes, and equipment history documentation.
• Oversee inventory control for vital mechanical spare parts to guarantee swift repair turnaround.

Qualifications and Skills

• Diploma in Mechanical Engineering is mandatory.
• Minimum 3 to 5 years experience in mechanical maintenance within heavy manufacturing, forging, or automotive ancillary industries.
• Strong capability in reading mechanical engineering drawings, hydraulic and pneumatic schematics.
• Hands-on skills in equipment overhauls and alignment procedures.
• Robust problem-solving skills, energetic approach for fast-paced shopfloor settings, and effective team communication.

Location and Candidate Preferences

This role is situated at the Vemagal Industrial Area close to Kolar. Candidates residing in or near Vemagal, Kolar, Hoskote, Malur, and neighboring regions are preferred due to the need for rapid response to urgent breakdown repairs.
