Overview

Join Qualdoc as a Mechanical Design Engineer based in Marietta, OH, contributing to the design and advancement of power protection and distribution products. This full-time position offers a starting salary of $60,000 annually, with possibilities for higher pay based on experience.

Key Roles and Duties

  • Develop comprehensive mechanical designs and technical documentation for power-focused products including switchboards, Power Distribution Units (PDUs), and power panels.
  • Produce and authorize mechanical designs that align with product specifications, manufacturing criteria, and customer expectations.
  • Work alongside engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, and service groups to ensure smooth product progress.
  • Participate in design evaluations, validation procedures, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Design, coordinate fabrication, and enhance mechanical prototypes.
  • Take lead on smaller engineering projects by managing tasks, timelines, and deliverables independently.
  • Support customization, engineering change notices, product lifecycle management, and optimization activities.
  • Assist in developing enhancements to improve product quality, manufacturability, and dependability.

Required Credentials

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • At least two years of mechanical engineering experience relevant to product design and documentation.
  • Proficiency in producing mechanical drawings and technical documents.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively within cross-functional teams.
  • Capability to juggle multiple priorities in a collaborative environment.

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Background in power protection devices and data center technologies.
  • Familiarity with electrical safety standards such as UL and IEC.
  • More than two years experience utilizing SolidWorks CAD software.
  • Experience conducting thermal and structural assessments.
  • Knowledge of PLM software systems.
  • Expertise in sheet metal design, detailed and assembly drawings, and design for manufacturing processes.
  • Skills in designing test fixtures and supporting product testing protocols.
  • Technical writing ability.
  • Working knowledge of switchboards, PDUs, UL 891 equipment, and UL 508 panels.
