Maintenance & Grounds Officer

About the Role

We are looking for a capable Maintenance & Grounds Officer motivated to ensure the safety, operation, and presentation of our aged care facilities through diligent maintenance and repair tasks. This position is based at Immanuel Gardens Aged Care in Buderim, Queensland and operates full-time from Monday to Friday, 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM.

The role involves daily upkeep of buildings, gardens, and grounds to keep the environment safe, clean, and inviting for residents, staff, and visitors alike.

Primary Responsibilities

• Regular maintenance of lawns, gardens, and shared spaces.
• Carrying out scheduled preventative maintenance and external cleaning duties.
• Detecting and documenting new safety risks and working to reduce existing hazards.
• Performing maintenance-related administrative duties.
• Coordinating the work of outside contractors and managing minor construction projects.
• Operating equipment and handling materials safely and responsibly.

Candidate Profile

• Prior experience in commercial maintenance and groundskeeping, ideally within aged care or similar settings.
• Strong problem-solving capabilities and meticulous attention to detail.
• Commitment to following safety protocols and preventative maintenance schedules.
• Team-oriented with a proactive mindset and demonstrated customer service skills.
• Must hold or be eligible for a valid Police Check and/or NDIS Worker Screening Clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

• Possession of a current manual driver's licence.
• Previous grounds maintenance work experience in aged care or comparable environments.
