Job Overview

Ryder is seeking a Logistics Supervisor based in Smyrna, TN, eager to contribute to our Supply Chain Solutions team. This pivotal role involves supervising daily logistics activities, ensuring team performance meets business goals, and fostering a positive work environment. Compensation includes a salary of $60,000 annually with bi-monthly payments and a standard Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. schedule.

Job Responsibilities

• Oversee and coordinate daily logistics operations to ensure smooth workflow.
• Collaborate with the Logistics Manager to plan and evaluate logistics processes adhering to company and client standards.
• Create and manage shift schedules and coordinate team activities for efficient logistics handling.
• Monitor and manage key performance indicators for the logistics site.
• Maintain close cooperation with customers for seamless operational execution.
• Conduct regular team meetings and individual follow-ups to track objectives, provide coaching, and recognize achievements.
• Promote a diverse and inclusive team spirit encouraging internal process improvements.
• Perform team member performance evaluations and recommend awards or salary adjustments as appropriate.
• Address performance issues using corrective and disciplinary measures.
• Ensure compliance with labor agreements and foster positive labor relations.
• Implement safety and security initiatives while enforcing company policies.
• Provide orientation and necessary resources to new employees and team leads for effective job performance.

Qualifications and Skills

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of one year experience preferred in transportation, warehouse, or distribution settings.
• At least up to one year of direct supervisory or leadership experience required.
• Strong planning and organizational skills.
• Leadership capabilities with results-driven and motivating approach.
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Ability to foster professional relationships across all organization levels.
• Ability to work independently, as well as collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Additional Information

This position is exempt salaried with a pay rate of $60,000 per year.
