Position Overview
Join the Tunamaya Beach & Spa Resort at Tioman Island as a Laundry Assistant dedicated to maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards of laundry operations and linen management.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain cleanliness, hygiene, and organization of all laundry areas, equipment, and linen storage spaces.
- Keep cleaning devices and materials in good, safe working order; promptly report any needed repairs or replacements to the Head Housekeeper.
- Manage chemical supplies used in the laundry, ensuring stock levels are sufficient and informing the Head Housekeeper for replenishment orders.
- Handle the processing of all household linens and guest clothing, applying appropriate washing temperatures based on fabric type to ensure thorough cleaning and stain removal.
- Adhere strictly to infection control protocols, including thermal disinfection and proper handling of soiled items using personal protective equipment.
- Iron and press household and personal clothing items to uphold high quality presentation standards.
- Inspect all fabric items for wear or damage, notifying management when replacements are necessary; verify that guest personal items are properly labeled.
- Ensure timely return of cleaned linens and guest clothing to appropriate storage or guest rooms.
- Understand and comply with fire safety, health and safety regulations, COSHH, infection control, and emergency aid procedures.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned within the role's scope, and be available for voluntary participation in social activities beyond regular hours as applicable.
