Role Overview
The Junior Web Developer position is a fully remote, full-time role responsible for supporting the design, development, and ongoing maintenance of the university's websites and web applications. Tasks include implementing front-end features, assisting with back-end functionality, bug fixes, and enhancing user experience in line with institutional goals and brand standards. The developer will collaborate closely with senior developers, designers, and content teams, participate in code reviews, adhere to best practices for accessibility, performance, and security, document technical solutions, test new functionality, and contribute to the continuous improvement of digital services.
Qualifications and Skills
- Proficiency in front-end technologies for creating accessible, responsive, and user-friendly interfaces.
- Knowledge of back-end development supporting server-side logic, data management, and system integrations.
- Comfortable working across the full web development stack and participating in comprehensive digital solutions.
- Familiarity with core web technologies, including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and at least one modern web framework, as well as version control using Git.
- Aptitude for rapid learning, adherence to coding standards, and productivity within remote, diverse teams.
- Strong analytical, communication, and documentation capabilities. Experience or internships in academic or related web projects are advantageous.
- Relevant academic background in computer science or information technology.
