About Alpine Business Consulting and the Role
Alpine Business Consulting specializes in optimizing enterprise performance management and financial reporting systems. We intervene when organizations have invested heavily in sophisticated tools but still face issues like inconsistent data and sluggish month-end closing processes. Presently, we are engaged with a major German industrial manufacturer on a large-scale initiative to enhance their financial reporting stability.
This entry-level Junior Data Quality Analyst role involves ensuring precise accounting of every dollar and inventory unit within the client's information systems. Operating fully remotely, the position demands strong concentration and logical problem-solving skills. You will collaborate closely with senior consultants, receiving direct guidance while contributing to practical solutions that provide a unified data source for the manufacturer.
Key Responsibilities
- Examine financial and operational datasets to uncover duplicates, missing entries, and formatting issues.
- Cross-verify data from various legacy systems to identify breakdowns in reporting logic.
- Support senior consultants in transitioning data from outdated sources to updated enterprise performance management tools.
- Conduct regular validations to confirm the stability of implemented data corrections.
- Prepare clear documentation detailing data flow processes.
- Develop straightforward training materials enabling the manufacturer’s team to uphold data cleanliness.
- Assist in testing new data configurations to detect errors before distribution to finance personnel.
- Engage in internal team discussions to update on data trends and recurring problems.
Candidate Requirements
- Completed degree in finance, business, data science, or a related discipline; equivalent internship experience considered.
- Proficiency with Excel basics, including functions like lookups and pivot tables for data comparison.
- Strong curiosity about organizational data flows.
- Exceptional attention to detail, capable of spotting discrepancies in large datasets.
- Effective written communication skills suited for technical documents and instructions.
- Ability to manage personal schedules and maintain productivity in a fully remote setting.
- Analytical mindset favoring permanent solutions over temporary fixes.
- Willingness or prior exposure to SQL and data visualization tools.
Benefits and Work Environment
- Permanent paid position with clear opportunities for professional advancement.
- 100% remote work arrangement offering flexibility and respect for personal time.
- Close mentorship from seasoned consultants with extensive field experience.
- Insight into the complex financial operations of a leading German industrial firm.
- Professional culture that emphasizes thorough documentation and reliable systems, avoiding unnecessary corporate jargon.
- Strong foundation building in enterprise performance management and data analytics disciplines.
- Results-focused environment delivering fixed-price solutions with transparency.
Our Approach
We value predictability and transparency rather than buzzwords or superficial progress markers. Each team member, including those at entry level, is encouraged to take full ownership of their responsibilities and communicate clearly. Our remote work model depends heavily on well-structured written communications and organized project management to keep initiatives on track. We prioritize comprehensive handover processes that empower clients with independence and confidence in their systems once projects conclude.
