Role Overview

The Data Platform team is responsible for designing and constructing the core data infrastructure, enabling efficient data flow across the organization. You will collaborate with the team to develop innovative methods for data ingestion, processing, storage, and delivery at scale and complexity. The team primarily builds tools that help internal users easily locate, access, and analyze data for diverse applications.

Key Responsibilities

• Architect, develop, and maintain the data platform to facilitate effective data ingestion, transformation, monitoring, quality control, and accessibility.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams to identify their data requirements and deliver suitable solutions.

• Google Cloud Platform components including CloudRun, BigQuery, Pub/Sub, and Dataform
• SQLMesh
• Infrastructure as code using Terraform and Terramate
• Automation with GitHub Actions
• Programming languages Python and SQL
• BI visualization tool Looker

Candidate Profile

• Minimum two yearsexperience in a data engineering role, ideally within fast-paced technology firms.
• Deep understanding of large-scale data ingestion, transformation, and modeling concepts.
• Excellent grasp of software engineering best practices applied to data pipeline development.
• Hands-on experience with data governance initiatives, including managing data catalogs, identity and access management, metadata upkeep, and enabling efficient data discovery.
• Proficiency in Python, SQL, and HCL (Terraform).
• Strong experience with public cloud platforms, especially Google Cloud Platform and its data services.
• Knowledge of BI tool integration with modern data ecosystems.
• Customer-oriented mindset focusing on product-driven software delivery to empower data-driven solutions.
• Fluency in English; German language skills are a plus.

Additional Valued Qualifications

• Experience with IoT data streams and real-time processing technologies like GCP Dataflow, Apache Beam, or Apache Flink.
• Background in scaling companies or startups of similar size.
