Junior Analyst - Risk and Data Analytics

About the Role

We are seeking a motivated Junior Analyst to join our Risk team in Hamburg. The ideal candidate will possess experience in the data domain and have a strong interest in developing expertise in risk analytics. This role is pivotal in supporting, enhancing, and automating risk reporting processes and analytics capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide backup support for daily risk reporting including metrics such as Value at Risk (VaR), Margin at Risk (MaR), stress testing, and Greeks.
• Enhance and support the risk reporting cycle by improving data source structures, production workflows, and ensuring timely delivery of critical reports.
• Uphold the four-eyes principle to maintain report accuracy and quality.
• Improve reconciliation processes through developing validation mechanisms and quality controls with modern data models to foster transparency.
• Contribute to projects aimed at maintaining, automating, and enhancing reporting dashboards and risk libraries.
• Advance the development of risk analytics including VaR, Exposure Modeling, MaR, and Cash Flow at Risk (CFaR).
• Create, scale, and optimize data solutions related to position, price, and risk metrics.
• Develop and maintain data models, SQL queries, and analytics implemented in Python.
• Design and deploy technical solutions involving data mining to expand existing capabilities.

Candidate Profile

• Holds a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Quantitative Finance, Finance or similar quantitative fields.
• Experienced with SQL, Power BI, Power Automate, Git, batch scripting, and PowerShell.
• Proficient in Python programming.
• Familiarity with automation tools and Databricks is advantageous, along with experience working with relational databases.
• Strong analytical and data manipulation skills complemented by problem-solving abilities.
• Knowledgeable in derivatives, statistics, simulation techniques, and key risk metrics.
• Exhibits a proactive mindset with excellent communication abilities.
• Detail-oriented and curious by nature.
