Interior Lead Engineer

About the Role

The Interior Lead Engineer role involves overseeing subsystem engineers and ensuring all deliverables for automotive cabin interior components are met. The engineer will lead design teams in providing technical solutions and support for various cabin trim elements, ensuring alignment with vehicle specifications and project timelines.

Key Responsibilities

• Organize and conduct engineering subsystem meetings to involve cross-functional teams.
• Lead design engineering efforts for automotive cabin trims such as pillar trims, trunk trims, headliners, sun visors, overhead consoles, carpets, NVH components, ducts, and more.
• Focus areas include Pillar Trims (A, B, C Pillars), Headliners & Overhead Consoles (fixed and panoramic roofs), Carpet & Load Space components.
• Ensure on-schedule delivery of cabin system components aligned with program milestones.
• Escalate critical technical or program challenges to management for prompt solutions.
• Adhere to vehicle specification documents, feature lists, and CMF (Colour, Material & Finish) standards to maintain design compliance.
• Maintain standard templates and best practices for technical documentation, DVPs, DFMEAs, and lead technical design reviews.
• Plan and drive part development and delivery schedules effectively throughout all program stages.
• Own and execute Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) engineering deliverables.
• Conduct cross-functional meetings to resolve issues during development and launch phases to assure smooth operations.
• Develop Design Change Requests (DCRs) to fix build issues and assist in implementing engineering modifications promptly.
