Inbound Logistics Specialist

Role overview

Almanea Co. is hiring an Inbound Logistics Specialist in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The role focuses on managing inbound shipment flow, coordinating with forwarders, brokers, procurement, planning, inventory, and finance, and ensuring that incoming goods are cleared, received, and recorded accurately.

Key responsibilities

• Receive shipping requests from the purchasing team and allocate them to the appropriate forwarders.
• Oversee and follow up on inbound consignments coming from suppliers and carriers.
• Monitor shipment progress and handle delays, delivery gaps, or any mismatches in documentation or status.
• Check shipping papers and forward the verified documents to brokers.
• Prepare and issue Saber certificates for shipments when required.
• Coordinate the clearance process with brokers and keep it on track.
• Make sure all incoming materials are received correctly and without errors.
• Work with the inventory team to plan and prioritize receiving activities.
• Look into damaged, missing, or wrongly delivered shipments and resolve the issues.
• Partner with procurement and planning teams to support material availability.
• Review the performance of forwarders and brokers.
• Submit payment requests for forwarders and brokers to the finance department.
• Maintain compliance with company procedures and any relevant import/export rules.
• Compile performance reports for inbound logistics, including delivery timeliness and receiving accuracy.
• Spot process improvements that can lower costs and improve operational efficiency.

Qualifications

• A bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, logistics, business administration, or a closely related discipline.
• At least 3 to 5 years of experience in logistics, shipping, or supply chain roles.
• Hands-on experience with ERP platforms such as SAP, Oracle, or Microsoft Dynamics.
• Very good command of English.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Working knowledge of logistics operations and processes.
