Hygiene Operative

Position Overview

Role Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness, hygiene, safety, and quality by following established cleaning standards for production areas and machinery.
• Clean all factory machinery and equipment according to deadlines to prepare for production.
• Operate pressure washers and apply cleaning chemicals safely.
• Eliminate debris from production zones to uphold hygiene standards.
• Disassemble and reassemble equipment to facilitate thorough cleaning processes.
• Perform manual handling tasks, including lifting items weighing up to 20 kilograms.

Work Environment

The role involves working in a fast-moving food manufacturing environment, some spaces being noisy and chilled, producing short shelf-life products where hygiene is critical. The standard work schedule is 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 08:00 to 17:00, with additional training during core hygiene hours from 18:00 to 03:00.

Candidate Requirements

• Hold a valid driving licence and have access to a personal vehicle for commuting.
• Possess good English communication skills and basic numeracy.
• Have basic hygiene training or certifications, such as COSHH.
• Work well within a team and communicate effectively with colleagues.
• Demonstrate attention to detail and flexibility in task management.
• Have prior experience in a food production or manufacturing setting.

Compensation and Benefits

• Hourly wage starting at 13.25 basic rate.
• Additional £2.00 per hour shift premium.
