Job Overview
The Human Resources Manager position at Chedi Hospitality in Doha, Qatar, calls for a seasoned professional with expertise in HR operations within international luxury hotel environments. The role includes managing daily HR department activities, ensuring alignment with corporate HR strategies, and upholding local labor laws and company standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee HR operations to ensure smooth and effective department performance in line with organizational values and strategies.
- Implement and maintain HR policies, employee welfare programs, and ensure all documentation complies with Qatar Labour Law and company protocols.
- Lead recruitment, staffing plans, onboarding processes, and maintain professional partnerships with recruitment agencies and educational institutions.
- Manage employee relations, including conflict resolution, disciplinary actions, and fostering an inclusive and respectful workplace.
- Support learning and development initiatives, including performance management, succession planning, and leadership programs.
- Administer compensation, benefits, and payroll coordination ensuring accuracy and compliance with policies and legislation.
- Prepare and monitor the HR budget, workforce productivity, and manpower costs, optimizing efficiency without compromising employee experience.
- Lead and develop the HR team by providing guidance, training, and performance management to uphold high service standards.
- Maintain strong relationships with governmental bodies and industry organizations, staying updated on labor law and industry trends.
- Participate in organizational meetings and ensure adherence to safety, security, and housekeeping standards.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by senior management.
Qualifications and Experience
- A university degree or diploma in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, Hospitality Management, or a related discipline is preferred.
- A minimum of 3 to 5 years progressive HR experience, including at least 2 years in an HR managerial role.
- Prior experience working within international luxury hotel brands is essential.
- Previous employment in Qatar with comprehensive knowledge of Qatar Labour Law, local employment regulations, immigration procedures, and HR practices.
- Fluent in both Arabic and English, with excellent communication skills in speaking and writing.
- Strong expertise in recruitment, employee relations, performance management, compensation and benefits, employee engagement, and HR administration.
- Excellent leadership, interpersonal, problem-solving, decision-making, organizational, and administrative capabilities.
- Professional discretion to handle confidential matters with sound judgment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS).
Other Details
The position requires active participation in hotel management meetings, compliance with all hotel policies related to safety and hygiene, as well as maintaining a high professional standard of conduct and appearance. The HR Manager must keep abreast of changes in labor law and the hospitality industry to continually adapt and improve HR functions within the organization.
