Role Overview
We seek a Human Resources Generalist to provide essential support in people operations for a growing organization based in Washington, D.C. This temporary position, with the possibility of becoming permanent, is perfect for an individual skilled in balancing employee support, precise administrative duties, and daily HR coordination tasks.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the comprehensive onboarding process for new hires, including preparing necessary paperwork, organizing orientation sessions, and facilitating a smooth introduction to the company.
- Offer consistent support on employee relations by addressing queries, escalating issues appropriately, and fostering a positive work environment.
- Oversee benefits administration activities such as enrollment, modifications, and communication while acting as a key contact for basic benefits questions.
- Ensure HR documentation and personnel records are accurately maintained within the HRIS to support compliance, reporting, and data accuracy.
- Handle daily HR administrative tasks like processing employment updates, tracking required forms, and assisting with policy-related communications.
- Collaborate with internal teams to implement HR policies uniformly and maintain confidentiality of employee information.
- Assist with audit preparation, reporting, and document review by organizing and verifying the completeness of HR records.
- Participate in enhancing HR processes and systems, adapting to workflow or system changes when needed.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience in employee relations, HR administration, onboarding protocols, benefits management, and HRIS operations.
- Sound understanding of human resources best practices, record-keeping standards, and documentation requirements.
- Exceptional discretion in handling sensitive employee information and maintaining confidentiality in all HR interactions.
- Strong multi-tasking and organizational abilities with the capability to prioritize and complete time-sensitive tasks efficiently.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, combined with a service-oriented approach to work.
- Proficiency in HR information systems and common office software utilized for tracking, reporting, and documentation.
- Detail-oriented mindset ensuring data and administrative accuracy across processes.
