Position Overview
The Human Resources Coordinator position involves providing comprehensive support throughout the employee lifecycle, including recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, HR administration, and ensuring compliance. This person will act as the frontline contact for employees and help keep HR operations efficient and effective.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Leadership Team with day-to-day HR operational needs.
- Manage end-to-end recruitment processes such as candidate sourcing, interview scheduling, communication, pipeline management, and extending offers.
- Prepare employment-related documents like onboarding packets and verification letters.
- Oversee the employee onboarding and orientation to provide a smooth transition experience.
- Accurately maintain employee records, HR files, and other personnel documentation with strict confidentiality.
- Address employee queries within 24 hours, resolving or escalating issues accordingly.
- Assist in compliance with all applicable laws and company policies.
- Continuously update reports, organizational charts, and workforce data accurately.
- Use audits and tracking tools to monitor HR tasks and recommend improvements in line with best industry practices.
- Support the development and implementation of company policies after appropriate approvals.
- Enhance existing HR processes for greater efficiency and scalability.
- Create clear, written Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and training materials to support team expansion and onboarding.
- Perform miscellaneous HR-related tasks as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- 1 to 3 years of experience in Human Resources, People Operations, Recruiting, or related fields.
- Strong organizational skills with keen attention to detail.
- Ability to handle sensitive information discreetly and responsibly.
- Excellent communication skills and a personable demeanor.
- Proficiency with digital tools such as Notion (or equivalents), Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, Adobe, and HR Information Systems, with a demonstrated ability to adapt quickly to new software.
- A proactive approach towards identifying challenges and proposing effective solutions.
- Comfortable adapting to shifting priorities within a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree.
- Familiarity with New York employment laws and labor regulations.
- Experience in client-centered industries like fashion, luxury goods, retail, or hospitality.
Additional Information
Compensation ranges from $25 to $27 per hour, based on experience, for a commitment of 20 hours per week. The work schedule is Monday through Friday, utilizing a hybrid arrangement in New York, NY 10016.
