About the Role
Hutchison Ports at the Port of Felixstowe, the UK's leading deep water container port and a key hub for global trade, seeks an experienced HR Case Manager to assist the Employee Relations Manager. This position involves delivering comprehensive frontline case management services across various employee-related matters within a fast-paced, unionized workplace governed by established policies supporting the employee lifecycle.
Responsibilities
- Lead initial case management processes including disciplinary, grievance, and absence management cases.
- Manage both short- and long-term absence proactively, engaging relevant parties effectively.
- Collaborate closely with occupational health providers to support employee wellbeing and facilitate return-to-work decisions in partnership with line managers.
- Work alongside management teams to enhance people management capabilities and address individual performance concerns as needed.
- Identify and propose improvements across case management areas to elevate standards and outcomes.
- Coordinate restructuring activities within business units ensuring compliance with legal and policy requirements.
- Engage with legal advisors and ACAS to support early conciliation and tribunal proceedings when necessary.
Candidate Requirements
- At least four years' frontline HR experience, specifically within unionized settings.
- Strong understanding of current employment law and collective agreements.
- Proven ability to provide accurate, professional HR support under pressure and tight deadlines.
- Experience working with HR information systems and databases.
- CIPD qualification or an equivalent degree.
- Valid full driving licence to travel across the Port site.
Compensation and Work Schedule
- Competitive base salary starting around £48,000, with potential incremental increases linked to development progress.
- Contracted hours of 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
