Role overview

This opportunity is for an experienced Housekeeping Manager to head housekeeping activities at a luxury resort in Sharjah, UAE. The position calls for a capable leader who can uphold top-tier cleanliness and service benchmarks while guiding and developing a sizeable team. A European passport is preferred. If the candidate is not based locally, the client will arrange a work visa and relocation.

Candidates should hold a degree in Hotel Management or a closely related discipline.

Experience and profile

The role requires around 10 years of experience in hospitality, including at least 3 years in a comparable leadership position managing a large team in a high-volume setting. Prior exposure to European luxury hospitality standards is preferred. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership, excellent organisation, multitasking ability, attention to detail, and a clear focus on service quality. Strong English communication skills are essential, while Arabic would be an added advantage. Experience with budgeting, cost control, process improvement, and change implementation is also important. Applicants should have worked in highly structured luxury environments with formal service expectations.

Responsibilities

• Direct the housekeeping department and oversee all day-to-day operations.
• Ensure rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces meet very high standards for cleanliness, hygiene, and presentation.
• Carry out regular inspections and walkthroughs to verify compliance with luxury service requirements.
• Handle staffing, rostering, training, and performance oversight for the team.
• Create, refine, and maintain housekeeping procedures, systems, and service guidelines.
• Plan and monitor the department budget, including forecasting and cost management.
• Track and control inventory such as linen, uniforms, and cleaning materials.
• Work with procurement and other departments on sourcing and vendor coordination.
• Ensure maintenance concerns are escalated and resolved without delay.
• Manage pest control and scheduled deep-cleaning activities.
• Provide on-the-job coaching and support ongoing staff development.
• Prepare operational updates and reports for senior leadership.
• Address operational issues and guest complaints quickly and effectively.
• Continuously improve efficiency and promote best-practice operations.

Salary

The compensation range is AED 20,000 to 24,500 per month, depending on experience.
