About the role

What you will do
- Complete assigned cleaning tasks to the expected standard across guest rooms, public spaces, back-of-house zones, and other areas as needed.
- Prepare and service rooms in line with the property’s luxury standards.
- Clean back-of-house areas and, when needed, kitchen spaces.
- Maintain staff, locker room, and guest washroom facilities.
- Carry out scheduled and routine cleaning work as directed.
- Support turndown service and add thoughtful guest touches where required.
- Clean balconies, outdoor furniture, railings, carpets, bathroom fittings, shower heads, grouting, and other room features.
- Perform deeper cleaning of rooms, minibar areas, air-conditioning units, cabinets, and related spaces.
- Help colleagues with tasks such as extra beds, bed boards, bed making, rollaway beds, and cots.
- Assist with laundry, linen movement, chemical handling, deliveries, and other heavy-lifting duties.
- Keep equipment, trolleys, and storage areas clean, orderly, and in good working condition.
- Assist with stock counts for equipment and supplies.
- Use cleaning chemicals safely and in line with health, safety, and manufacturer guidance.
- Report any maintenance faults, suspicious items or persons, and defective equipment immediately through the correct process.
- Protect guest confidentiality and follow key-security procedures at all times.
- Support guests with general service or information requests and escalate anything outside your authority.
- Maintain high standards of presentation, hygiene, and cleanliness throughout the property.
- Use linens and chemicals responsibly and economically.
- Ensure corridors remain clear of trays, linen trolleys, and cages.
- Take on other reasonable housekeeping-related duties as requested by supervisors or management.
- Identify guest preferences and deliver small personal touches that improve the guest experience.
Requirements
- At least 6 months of prior housekeeping experience, ideally in a 5-star or luxury setting.
- Strong physical fitness, with the ability to handle heavy lifting and remain on your feet for long shifts.
- Good understanding of luxury guest expectations and a sharp eye for detail.
- Ability to build warm, respectful connections with guests and colleagues.
- Professional grooming and polished personal presentation.
- Flexibility to work around hotel rostering needs, including weekends and public holidays.
- A clean police record.
