Housekeeper

Job Summary

This role is responsible for keeping the facility sanitary and orderly, with a strong focus on maintaining a clean, safe, and low-risk environment in areas where germs and illness may spread easily.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out floor and surface cleaning using approved methods and procedures.
• Measure and prepare cleaning agents and chemicals according to state safety rules.
• Dust, mop, and sweep patient areas, rooms, and administrative offices.
• Sanitize public restrooms thoroughly.
• Wash mirrors and windows and polish fixtures and fittings.
• Remove waste, empty bins, and support proper disposal/compaction of surgical waste in line with policy.
• Track cleaning consumables and equipment inventory.
• Notify the Operations Director when equipment needs servicing, repair, or replacement.
• Report facility hazards to the Operations Director and help address them.
• Maintain sufficient supplies of cleaning materials at all times.
• Handle other related duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Education and Experience

• A high school diploma is required at minimum.
• Prior experience in a mental health or substance abuse facility is preferred.
• Must be able to travel between Harmony Recovery Group facilities.

Physical Requirements

The job involves regular physical activity and may require reasonable accommodation for qualified individuals with disabilities. The employee must be able to lift or move up to 20 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally. Work also requires regular talking and hearing, frequent standing, walking, and sitting, and occasional use of hands for handling or feeling, reaching, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.

Work Environment

• The role is generally performed in a moderate-noise environment.
• Work may take place in both indoor and outdoor settings as needed.
• There may be exposure to aggressive behavior.
• There is possible contact with airborne pathogens, bloodborne pathogens, and other infectious diseases.
