Job Overview
As a Housekeeper, you will be tasked with light cleaning duties to maintain a clean and orderly environment in the facility.
Responsibilities
- Sanitize and clean areas including surgical procedure rooms, washrooms, operating room tables, stretchers, vents, interior windows, walls, glass surfaces, doors, and mirrors.
- Strip beds, wash linens, make beds, and handle linen collection and folding.
- Damp mop hard surface floors and operate auto scrubbing machines as required.
- Inspect primary areas such as lobbies, stairwells, elevators/escalators, and mezzanines regularly, and clean them as needed.
- Vacuum carpets and perform carpet extraction when necessary.
- Dispose of all garbage from patient rooms and communal areas properly.
- Maintain confidentiality concerning all resident and personnel information.
- Ensure a safe environment at all times by using safety measures like wet floor signs.
- Adhere strictly to health and safety guidelines while performing duties.
- Immediately report any injuries or hazards to supervisory staff.
- Attend promptly to emergency cleaning situations as required.
Requirements
- Previous experience in housekeeping, ideally within healthcare, hospitality, or commercial cleaning settings is advantageous.
- Capable of managing heavy workloads efficiently through strong organizational and time management skills.
- Good command of English in both spoken and written forms.
- Ability to comprehend and follow verbal and written instructions accurately.
- Physical capability to perform job tasks, including lifting objects weighing up to 20 pounds.
