Homemaker - Uniting

Position Overview

Uniting Wontama in Orange, NSW, is currently looking for a Homemaker to lead the smooth functioning of a household within their residential aged care service. This role includes supervising a team dedicated to providing resident-oriented care and actively supporting the residents' dignity, independence, and day-to-day needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead Care Worker teams by managing daily household operations effectively.
• Assign tasks to team members based on the preferences and needs of residents to maintain a harmonious workplace.
• Handle resident, family, coworker, and service provider inquiries and feedback promptly.
• Ensure equipment is safe and functioning by monitoring maintenance and repairs as required.
• Manage inventory of supplies and consumables, ensuring reordering aligns with budget limits.
• Assist residents with their personal care and daily living activities, prioritizing their dignity and autonomy.
• Drive continuous service improvements aligned with Aged Care Accreditation Standards.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Certificate IV in Aged Care or equivalent qualification.
• Previous supervisory experience in aged or community care sectors or related fields.
• Competence in using client and data management information systems.
• Adaptability, resourcefulness, and commitment to Uniting's core values: compassion, respect, imagination, and boldness.

Preferred Qualifications

• Assist Clients with Medication (HLTHPS006)
• Recognise Healthy Body Systems (HLTAP301B)
• Provide Support to People Living with Dementia (CHCAGE005)
