Job Overview
As a Level 3 Handfinisher at Honeywell Aerospace in Cambridge, Ontario, you will play a crucial role in preparing aerospace components to meet exacting standards through meticulous hand-finishing techniques under magnification.
Core Responsibilities
- Execute microscopic deburring using high magnification tools.
- Finish aerospace parts precisely as per design specifications.
- Apply advanced manual dexterity to achieve superior finishes.
- Inspect completed components thoroughly to ensure quality compliance.
- Utilize precision instruments and methodologies for finishing tasks.
- Interpret engineering drawings and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing requirements.
- Operate independently within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Comply with all fabrication protocols and maintain workplace safety.
- Handle hand tools such as sanders, grinders, and polishers effectively during finishing activities.
- Engage in collaboration with engineering and design teams to refine finishing workflows.
- Maintain cleanliness and safety of work areas and tools.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior finishing staff.
- Adhere rigorously to safety standards and environmental policies.
Qualifications and Skills
- Must hold a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Possess 3 to 5 years of finishing experience in high-technology settings, preferably aerospace.
- Proven hand-finishing expertise is highly preferred.
- Eligibility for Controlled Goods Program/Secret security clearance is mandatory.
- Experience with SAP software is advantageous.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Capability to perform repetitive tasks consistently.
- Understanding of Lean manufacturing principles and AS9100 standards is a plus.
Work Environment
This role requires periods of standing and sitting, frequent microscope operation, and regular use of specialized hand and finishing tools in a production setting. Flexibility to work various shifts is expected.
Compensation and Other Information
The estimated annual base salary ranges between 52300 and 63000 Canadian dollars, determined by multiple factors including experience and education. This vacancy is immediate and active.
