About the role

Key duties

  • Support the Crew Leader Sportsfields with the preparation, upkeep, and renovation of parks, sports fields, turf wickets, ovals, and related areas in line with service agreements, schedules, and work programs.
  • Help develop annual improvement, maintenance, and renovation plans, and put them into practice where needed.
  • Inspect sports fields and ovals, especially after heavy rainfall, and advise whether areas should remain open or be closed.
  • Work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays, when required.
  • Assist the Team Leader Sportsfields and Crew Leader Sportsfields in providing practical skills development and on-the-job training to other staff.
  • Carry out risk and hazard checks across all areas managed by the crew and take corrective action when necessary.
  • Identify, report, and where possible resolve landscape issues, particularly those affecting sports field preparation and maintenance.

Requirements
