Job description
About the Programme
Dornan invites applications for its Mechanical Engineering / Building Services Engineering Graduate Programme based in Cork. This initiative offers graduates the chance to work alongside seasoned engineers on active projects, gaining hands-on experience with systems such as chilled water, ventilation, BMS, refrigeration, and sprinkler systems in a live construction environment.
Primary Responsibilities
- Support report and front-end study preparation including capital cost estimations, project scheduling, material take-offs, and tender scheduling.
- Help prepare technical and contractual documents for issuance and evaluate received tenders.
- Update and manage delivery schedules to regulate deliveries effectively.
- Engage with the Design team to resolve queries through the Request for Information (RFI) system.
- Use MS Project to create and maintain project timelines.
- Track progress relative to plans and compile progress reports.
- Develop look-ahead programs to assist production planning.
- Collaborate with the construction team to prepare method statements and risk assessments for production tasks.
- Keep an updated record of contract variations.
- Prepare testing documentation to confirm system completions.
- Conduct quality control through inspections and snagging activities.
- Manage document control, recording, and distribution.
- Support financial management of contracts during construction phases.
- Coordinate with clients, the design team, and contractors on technical matters.
Candidate Profile
- Currently pursuing a Level 8 degree in Mechanical or Building Services Engineering.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Prior engineering experience is advantageous but not mandatory.
