General Maintenance Technician II

As a General Maintenance Technician II for the Greater Inland Northwest Chapter in Spokane, WA, you will perform vital maintenance tasks that keep organizational facilities and equipment functioning efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct maintenance and repairs across the organization's properties involving routine tasks such as patching walls, repairing concrete floors and sidewalks, painting structures, and addressing minor electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and structural issues.
• Install, operate, and service mechanical equipment including boilers, chillers, motors, fans, and pumps.
• Support logistics by moving and storing furniture and equipment.
• Estimate project costs including time and materials and requisition necessary supplies.
• Perform grounds-keeping duties such as planting and tending flowerbeds, pruning shrubs and trees, watering, fertilizing, leaf removal, sweeping external areas, snow removal using equipment or shovels, and applying snow-melting chemicals as needed.
• Travel monthly to smaller district sites located 3-4 hours away to perform maintenance tasks.
• Operate company vehicles safely and maintain compliance with all safety protocols.
• Adhere to policies, standards, and federal, state, and local regulations in all work activities.

Qualifications and Requirements

• A high school diploma or equivalent is mandatory.
• At least three years of relevant experience in maintenance encompassing painting, HVAC, carpentry, plumbing, masonry, and electrical work, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record; previous experience driving trucks or buses is a plus.
• Basic computer literacy and strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills are required.
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.

Physical Demands

This role involves frequent use of hands and arms, talking, hearing, and the ability to lift and move objects weighing between 10 to 50 pounds regularly. Occasionally, assistance or mechanical help may be required to lift items exceeding 100 pounds. The position also requires pushing carts weighing up to 250 pounds, standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, occasional sitting, and climbing ladders.

Work Schedule and Location

The workweek is scheduled Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM with no on-call responsibilities. The main facility spans approximately 10,000 square feet in Spokane, WA, with required travel to smaller sites as noted.

Compensation and Benefits

The hourly wage ranges from $20.63 to $22 depending on experience and skills, adjusted for the geographic location.
