Role Overview

We are looking for a Frontend Web Application Engineer to design and develop impactful web interfaces tied to our flight safety platform. This individual will work collaboratively with senior engineers, product managers, and designers to build user-centric features that facilitate interaction with sophisticated aviation data. The role involves contributing to production environments, expanding technical expertise, and supporting advancements in flight safety and operational performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop React-driven features for web apps handling real-time and archived aviation datasets.
• Integrate and visualize diverse data streams effectively from multiple sources.
• Partner with backend teams, product leadership, and design professionals on feature conception and execution.
• Engage in code reviews and adhere to frontend best practices and architectural guidelines.
• Maintain frontend systems with robust testing and thorough documentation.
• Build shared frontend components and libraries to enhance reusability.

Candidate Profile

• Minimum of 2 years experience creating user-facing web applications, or comparable project/internship experience.
• Proficient in React, TypeScript, JavaScript, state management, and modern web technologies (HTML/CSS).
• Knowledgeable about asynchronous frontend patterns and handling APIs or streaming data.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving aptitude with a willingness to learn via feedback and mentorship.
• Ability to thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced setting.
• Committed to producing high-quality, performant, and maintainable code.

Preferred Qualifications

• A genuine interest in aviation and improving safety and efficiency in air travel.
• Experience working with geospatial or mapping tools like Mapbox or Cesium.
• Familiarity with live data or video streaming technologies.

Work Location and Schedule

This position follows a hybrid work model based in San Carlos, California, requiring onsite presence at least three days a week, with flexibility for remote work on other days.
