Job description
About the Role
We're a fast-growing, seed-stage European startup building an AI-powered phone assistant platform for small and medium-sized businesses. Our product automates inbound and outbound calls, appointment scheduling, customer service interactions, and more — and we're looking for a Forward Deployment Engineer to own the technical success of customer deployments end-to-end.
This role sits at the intersection of product and customer outcomes. You'll translate real-world business requirements into reliable production setups, build integrations and glue code, and feed learnings back into the product to make every future deployment faster and smarter. You'll work closely with product, engineering, and go-to-market in a small, high-velocity team.
What You'll Do
Act as the technical bridge between product and customer setups — capturing requirements and translating them into robust, production-ready implementations.
Lead end-to-end rollouts of AI assistant configurations in production, including workflows, logic, data flows, prompts, and guardrails.
Implement integrations with third-party systems via APIs and webhooks, covering CRM, calendar, ticketing, payments, and common auth patterns (OAuth, API keys).
Develop small-to-medium features and glue code to map customer use cases to production systems, with appropriate tests, monitoring, and logging.
Debug live issues across calls, flows, and data pipelines — and deploy rapid fixes under production conditions.
Build reusable templates, deployment playbooks, and best practices to make setups scalable and repeatable.
Maintain a fast feedback loop with the product team by surfacing pain points, feature gaps, and recurring patterns with concrete recommendations.
Own deployment success and ensure customer setups function reliably in live environments.
What We're Looking For
Must-haves:
3+ years of hands-on experience in deployment engineering, delivering production AI integrations and automation workflows.
Deep experience with AI/LLM-based systems: prompt design, tool use, RAG/knowledge retrieval, evaluation, and handling failure modes.
Proven ability to translate complex business processes into robust, testable AI-driven workflows.
Experience building integrations to third-party systems (APIs, webhooks, CRMs, calendars, ticketing, payments) including authentication patterns and data formats.
Solid coding ability to implement glue code and features, with tests, monitoring, and logging.
Cloud fundamentals: deployments, observability, and production debugging.
Pragmatic, delivery-focused mindset — you ship fast and iterate.
Nice to haves:
TypeScript or Python coding experience.
Experience with n8n or other workflow/automation tooling.
Voice/telephony integration experience.
SQL proficiency and monitoring/tracing tool experience.
GDPR / Privacy-by-Design awareness.
Compensation & Benefits
Salary: €60,000 – €90,000 per year, depending on experience.
