Role Overview

We seek a highly skilled software engineer capable of crafting customized technical solutions and collaborating closely with machine learning teams to develop Chalk's proprietary infrastructure. In this role, you will engage with Chalk's clients to engineer efficient feature pipelines addressing challenging problems in healthcare, finance, and recommendation systems. You'll have the unique opportunity to work in-person as an early team member, significantly influencing a rapidly growing startup's success.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement Chalk technology solutions tailored for customers and prospects, gaining deep familiarity with Chalk infrastructure and optimizing integration across diverse environments.
• Collaborate intimately with Engineering and Sales teams to align technical and business objectives.
• Serve as the primary technical liaison during pre-sales and post-sales phases, including onboarding new clients and supporting existing customers.
• Provide strategic recommendations for new products aligned with customers' evolving business needs.
• Contribute to the growth of the Engineering team through recruitment and mentorship activities.

Candidate Requirements

• Strong technical foundation with experience in software development or machine learning model creation.
• Minimum of four years professional experience in backend software engineering.
• Proficiency in Python and SQL programming languages.
• Ability to work cooperatively within teams comprising both technical and non-technical members.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, adept problem-solving abilities, storytelling, and analytical thinking.
• Experience collaborating with sales teams and customer-facing roles is advantageous.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior exposure to machine learning/data products or related services.
• Understanding of Machine Learning Operations and Infrastructure.
• Experience as a forward-deployed engineer at a fast-growing startup specializing in machine learning solutions.
