Role Overview
This full-time Financial Controller role, stationed on-site in Cork, involves managing the daily financial functions of the group. Key duties encompass compiling and auditing financial statements and management accounts, forecasting cash flows, and ensuring precision in financial reporting. The role extends to keeping thorough accounting records, controlling budgets and expenditures, facilitating audits, and adhering to all pertinent compliance standards.
The Financial Controller will also track performance across stores, evaluate financial data to generate insights and strategic recommendations for leadership, and contribute to business planning and enhancement projects. This position requires leading and mentoring finance team members and collaborating extensively with store managers and executive leadership.
Qualifications and Skills
- Strong foundation in accounting and finance principles.
- Competency in preparing, analysing, and explaining financial reports for multiple units.
- Advanced analytical capabilities to scrutinise performance indicators, detect patterns, and aid decision-making through data.
- Proficiency with accounting software and advanced Excel skills related to budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
- Professional accounting designations such as ACA, ACCA, or CIMA, or equivalent experiential background, are highly desirable.
- Prior experience as a Financial Controller or senior finance specialist within retail, FMCG, or multi-location business environments is advantageous.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and team leadership competencies, with collaborative ability to work with operational staff and senior management.
- Attention to detail, high ethical standards, and dedication to ongoing enhancement and adherence to financial governance best practices.
