Role Overview

The Financial Controller will act as the fiscal steward for Basiqat Resort by Mantis, ensuring stringent financial governance, precise reporting, and a strong control environment within a remote resort environment. This hands-on position involves both operational finance and strategic leadership, particularly relevant to early-stage or pre-opening resort contexts, working closely with the General Manager and regional finance team to enhance financial outcomes and support organizational goals.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage all aspects of financial operations including accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting.
• Deliver timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports and management accounts.
• Preserve financial data integrity and ensure adherence to corporate financial standards.
• Lead annual budgeting activities and routine forecasting, collaborating with department leaders for precise cost and revenue alignment.
• Track financial results against budgets and analyze discrepancies.
• Assist commercial teams with financial advice aimed at improving profitability.
• Implement and maintain robust internal controls complying with Accor policies and Saudi financial regulations.
• Protect company assets and oversee compliance with tax and statutory requirements.
• Coordinate internal and external audits effectively.
• Supervise accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and cash management activities.
• Support procurement processes with appropriate financial governance and ensure accurate cost allocations.
• Serve as a trusted financial consultant to the leadership team, providing insights for strategic decision-making and revenue growth.
• Enhance financial systems usage and spearhead continuous process improvements to boost reporting efficiency.
• Support financial setup and system implementation for pre-opening stages if necessary.

Qualifications & Skills

• Between 5 to 8+ years in progressively responsible financial roles, preferably within hospitality or resort environments.
• Expertise in financial controlling, accounting principles, and reporting standards.
• Experience working in pre-opening or remote operational settings is an advantage.
• Comprehensive knowledge of Saudi financial laws and IFRS standards.
• Degree in Finance, Accounting or closely related discipline.
• Professional certification such as CIMA, ACCA, CPA or equivalent is preferred.
• Strong analytical abilities combined with excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Meticulous attention to detail and an inherent focus on maintaining control standards.
• Familiarity with financial and hospitality management systems like Opera, Sun, SAP, or equivalent ERP platforms.
