Financial Analyst - Remote Contract Opportunity

About the Role

Mercor specializes in connecting top-tier creative and technical professionals with prominent AI research laboratories globally. This remote contract position seeks a finance expert skilled in FP&A, controllership, and operating finance functions.

Key Responsibilities

• Construct and evaluate budgets, forecasts, scenario-based models, and variance reporting.
• Create or critique board reports, define KPIs, conduct cohort analyses, and assess unit economics.
• Examine revenue streams, sales pipelines, operational drivers, and collaborate on cross-functional planning assumptions.
• Assess month-end close procedures, financial consolidations, revenue recognition, and internal control frameworks.
• Detect errors in calculations, inconsistencies in definitions, flawed assumptions, and unsupported conclusions in management reports.
• Express analytical insights through well-organized and clear written communication.

Qualifications

• Between 5 to 18 years of pertinent experience across FP&A, strategic finance, revenue operations, business intelligence, controllership, accounting, or related finance disciplines—5-10 years for practitioner roles and up to 18 years for senior reviewers.
• Demonstrated expertise in financial modeling, management reporting, and collaboration as a finance business partner.
• CPA certification is highly encouraged, especially for accounting and controllership related responsibilities.
• Strong written communication skills and the ability to link financial outcomes to operational drivers.
• Experience in overseeing team outputs, managing close processes, or engaging with senior management enhances candidacy particularly for senior roles.

Additional Information

• Compensation ranges from $95 to $125 hourly.
• This is a fully remote contract role.
