Finance Officer

About the Role

The Bureau of Meteorology invites applications for an enthusiastic and proactive Finance Officer to become a valuable member of our team based in Hobart, Tasmania. This role is designed to provide essential financial and administrative support to a wide range of stakeholders both internally and externally.

Responsibilities

As part of the Finance Operations team, you will contribute to delivering customer-oriented services across multiple key financial functions, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Purchasing Card management, and Travel Finance support. You will be expected to adapt and contribute effectively within a dynamic environment undergoing significant transformation, playing a key role in driving continuous improvement initiatives to ensure efficient procure-to-pay processes, accurate invoice generation and dispatch, and precise reconciliation of purchasing card transactions.

Additional Information

This position offers a distinctive opportunity to engage in the management of financial resources within a Commonwealth government context. Familiarity with the Public Governance, Performance and Accountability (PGPA) Act 2013 is highly valued. Additionally, experience with SAP, SAP Concur, and the Microsoft Office Suite will significantly enhance your ability to thrive in this role.
