About Etqan Global Academy and Role Overview

Etqan Global Academy (EGA) is a newly founded International Baccalaureate (IB) World School in Doha, Qatar, delivering the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP) and Middle Years Programme (MYP). As part of the Nord Anglia Education group, a global leader in premium international education with over 80 schools worldwide, EGA is seeking a seasoned Facilities Manager. This individual will oversee the daily operations, maintenance, and management of the school’s infrastructure, grounds, and buildings, ensuring the environment is safe, secure, and conducive to the educational and community activities of the school.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations to ensure that school facilities remain safe, operational, and suited for their intended uses.
• Develop and manage planned preventative maintenance schedules while handling reactive repairs promptly.
• Coordinate all statutory inspections, testing, certifications, and assist with internal and external audits as required.
• Supervise external contractors and service providers to guarantee safety compliance and quality completion of work on site.
• Assist with the organization and execution of refurbishment and capital enhancement projects.
• Maintain detailed records including asset registers, equipment data, and maintenance history for effective lifecycle management.
• Contribute to budget management and procurement processes by identifying cost-saving and efficiency improvements.
• Provide logistical support during school functions, examinations, and emergency response situations.

Candidate Profile and Qualifications

• Possession of a degree, diploma, or equivalent credential in Facilities Management, Engineering, Construction, or a related field.
• Demonstrable experience in managing facilities within a complex operational environment.
• Proven ability to coordinate maintenance programs and manage contractor activities.
• Sound knowledge of building maintenance practices, statutory compliance, and overall facilities management.
• Strong organizational, communication, and information technology skills.
• Certification such as Certified Facility Manager (CFM), Facility Management Professional (FMP), or equivalent is preferred.
• Additional qualifications in safety or project management (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH, PMP, PRINCE2) are advantageous.
• Experience working in educational institutions and/or within the GCC region is desirable.
