Role Overview

The Executive, Commercial Operations (Power) role focuses on supporting daily commercial functions within the Power Trading team. Responsibilities include monitoring market data, preparing reports, assisting in settlements, coordinating operational inputs, and managing follow-ups on market-related activities. This opportunity is ideal for individuals with little or no prior experience who are eager to develop foundational knowledge in Singapore’s power market, commercial operations, and the energy trading landscape through structured learning and practical exposure.

Key Responsibilities

• Support daily operational tasks related to power market activities such as data validation, generating reports, documenting processes, and ensuring timely resolution of operational issues.
• Monitor and consolidate critical electricity market data, creating routine reports that assist team analysis and informed decision-making.
• Assist with settlement processes by verifying source data, reconciling figures, noting discrepancies, and maintaining comprehensive records.
• Coordinate operational data inputs including gas nominations, supply, transport details, and other relevant information to support market operations.
• Collaborate with internal colleagues and external counterparties to clarify details, track outstanding items, and ensure smooth task completion.
• Adhere to market regulations, internal guidelines, risk policies, and approval workflows while escalating exceptions when necessary.
• Contribute to efforts for process enhancements, digitalization, automation, data cleansing, and development of dashboards or reports to boost efficiency and accuracy.
• Commit to continuous learning about Singapore’s electricity market, commercial workflows, trading processes, and internal systems through guided training and hands-on practice.

Qualifications and Experience

• A bachelor’s degree in disciplines such as Business, Economics, Engineering, Data Analytics, Mathematics, Statistics, or related fields.
• No prior professional experience required; internships, academic projects, or co-curricular involvement related to energy, utilities, data analysis, operations, commercial support, or trading environments are advantageous.

• Strong numerical and analytical capabilities with accuracy in handling data, spreadsheets, and reports.
• Keen attention to detail, accurately performing data checks and maintaining dependable records.
• Enthusiastic learner with curiosity and initiative to understand power markets and commercial operations.
• Effective communicator and coordinator with the ability to engage various stakeholders proactively.
• Comfortable with digital tools, proficient in Microsoft Excel; knowledge of Power BI, Python, VBA, SQL or similar analytical software is beneficial.
• Collaborative team player who is dependable, positive, and ready to support team priorities in a dynamic environment.
• Preparedness to assist with urgent operational matters as needed, with supervision from senior staff.
