Overview
Compassion Behavioral Health is actively seeking a seasoned Executive Director to provide comprehensive strategic, operational, and clinical oversight for its Residential Treatment Facility located in Hollywood and its Partial Hospitalization Program in Fort Lauderdale. This pivotal leadership role ensures the delivery of superior patient care, adherence to regulatory standards, operational success, development of staff, growth in patient census, and financial stability for both programs.
Key Responsibilities
The Executive Director will maintain a substantial onsite presence at the Hollywood Residential Facility, while also delivering consistent weekly and as-needed leadership at the Partial Hospitalization Program site. This role demands a proactive leader skilled in balancing strategic vision with the daily management tasks, advocating a work culture based on accountability, teamwork, and excellence.
Qualifications and Experience
- A Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, Healthcare Administration, Business Administration (MBA), or related behavioral health field is required.
- MBA or MHA degrees are preferred for candidates without a clinical background.
- Florida Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) certification is highly preferred.
- Candidates holding an MBA/MHA may also be considered if they possess extensive behavioral healthcare executive leadership experience supported by qualified clinical leadership.
- At least five years of advancing leadership experience within behavioral health, substance use disorder, or mental health treatment environments.
- Minimum three years in senior leadership managing multiple care levels such as Residential, Detox, Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP), Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP), or similar.
Knowledge and Skills
- In-depth understanding of Florida behavioral health regulations, ASAM Criteria, and behavioral health best practices.
- Familiarity with Medicaid, commercial insurance, and managed care protocols.
- Insight into Joint Commission standards and trauma-informed recovery-oriented care frameworks.
- Strong leadership qualities with expertise in organizational development and managing multidisciplinary teams.
- Proven abilities in financial and strategic planning, improving clinical quality, and operational effectiveness across multiple facilities or programs.
- Excellent communication skills, adept in building relationships with referring agencies, payers, and regulatory bodies.
