Role Overview
This position involves providing comprehensive administrative support to the Senior Vice President (SVP) at National Geographic, part of The Walt Disney Company. The Executive Assistant manages complex scheduling, detailed expense reporting, travel coordination, and communications both internally and externally. This role supports the SVP and her team by assisting in the creation of presentation materials, facilitating project management efforts, organizing department-wide meetings and events, and gathering timely updates for senior leadership. An understanding of the broader National Geographic and Walt Disney Company operations is essential.
Primary Responsibilities
- Manage the SVP's busy schedule, coordinate meetings, and arrange travel plans while maintaining communication with various stakeholders.
- Provide direct administrative support to the SVP's direct reports, including scheduling and tracking deliverables.
- Collaborate with administrative leads across different departments to foster effective communication and coordination among executives and staff.
- Generate documentation by compiling data and reports, note-taking during meetings, and collecting regular updates from the Brand & Franchise team for leadership review.
- Prepare and file precise expense reports for the SVP, her direct reports, and departmental initiatives ensuring timely submissions.
Candidate Profile
Candidates must be capable administrators who maintain high confidentiality standards and represent the department professionally. Attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to juggle multiple priorities under tight deadlines are critical. A proactive, resourceful, adaptable attitude combined with excellent communication skills is required.
Qualifications
- Familiarity with software tools including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Apple Keynote, Google Workspace, Zoom, Adobe Acrobat, and various social media platforms.
- Relevant internship experience in either entertainment or project management is expected.
- Preferred candidates will have over two years of experience as an administrative or executive assistant.
- A Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience is desired.
Compensation and Employment Details
The salary range for this role located in Burbank, CA and Washington DC spans from $59,600 to $79,800 annually based on a standard 40-hour workweek. The actual hours per week may fluctuate according to business demands. Pay offered will consider internal equity, location, skill level, expertise, and experience. Additional compensation may include bonuses and long-term incentive units. A comprehensive benefits package covering medical, financial, and other areas is also offered depending on the position level.
