Job Overview
The Executive Assistant role involves providing comprehensive administrative, organizational, and operational support under limited supervision for a department within Broward College. This position requires specialized knowledge in managing departmental policies and operational coordination.
Key Duties
- Manage day-to-day department operations including telephone management, visitor assistance, handling requisitions, disbursements, and purchase orders.
- Liaise with external vendors and prepare correspondence, meetings scheduling, project planning assistance, travel arrangements, and payroll processing.
- Oversee administrative support functions, including mail distribution, file and inventory maintenance, and data management systems.
- Compose and edit technical and administrative documents related to departmental operations.
- Assist with problem-solving, program and project planning and execution aligning with department goals.
- Serve as a central contact point resolving inquiries related to department policies and procedures efficiently.
- Train and coordinate work with lower-level office support, student, or temporary staff.
Qualifications and Experience
- Associate's degree is mandatory; bachelor's degree preference. Equivalent education and experience considered.
- Minimum five years of experience in administrative or related roles.
- Prior exposure to light bookkeeping and office management is favorable.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Effective communication skills to coordinate with vendors and campus staff.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and internet research.
Additional Details

Work Schedule & Salary
Full-time, 40 hours per week, primarily first shift, Monday through Friday with variable weekends. Salary ranges from $41,262 to $47,451 annually, dependent on education and experience.
