Key Responsibilities

• Examine tender documents, plans, and specifications carefully.
• Conduct precise quantity take-offs utilizing AGTEK software.
• Request and review quotations from suppliers and subcontractors.
• Perform site visits and field measurements needed for bid preparation.
• Review sets of drawings, permits, and all related plans and specifications.
• Compile bid proposals and subcontractor comparison sheets for evaluation.
• Generate estimate turnovers for project managers and assemble project books.
• Create call lists and conduct follow-ups to secure coverage.
• Build and sustain positive relationships with clients and subcontractors.
• Use HCSS Heavy Bid software to estimate projects.
• Support field management in cost control and processing change orders.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related construction field preferred; relevant education and experience combinations will be considered.
• Two to five years of road construction industry experience with bidding proficiency required.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Effective organizational and time management skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
• Successful completion of drug screening and background check mandated by employer.
• Valid Georgia driver’s license is necessary due to frequent travel between office and sites.
