Engineering Technician

Position Overview

Join The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company as an Engineering Technician based in Marina Bay, Singapore. This full-time role involves assembling, installing, testing, and sustaining electrical and electronic systems and equipment. You will work hands-on with wiring, appliances, and fixtures using a variety of hand and power tools, ensuring systems operate safely and efficiently in line with relevant codes.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, assemble, and maintain electrical wiring, apparatus, and equipment, employing hand and power tools.
• Inspect and troubleshoot malfunctioning electrical systems and tools, diagnosing issues accurately.
• Connect wiring to components such as circuit breakers and transformers.
• Use testing instruments like ohmmeters, voltmeters, oscilloscopes, and perform battery checks on equipment including generators and emergency lighting.
• Plan wiring layouts and installations compliant with National Electrical Code and local regulations based on job specs and blueprints.
• Address repair demands promptly and conduct routine preventative maintenance on equipment and tools.
• Manage maintenance inventory, ordering parts and supplies as needed.
• Adhere strictly to company safety, security protocols, and proper storage of hazardous materials; complete required training and certifications.
• Maintain confidentiality of company information and safeguard assets.
• Engage professionally with guests and colleagues, providing excellent service and support.
• Carry out physical tasks involving lifting, moving, and manipulating objects up to 10 pounds requiring fine motor skills.
• Perform other reasonable duties assigned by supervisors.

Qualifications and Experience

• Possess a Technical, Trade, or Vocational School diploma or equivalent.
• Have a minimum of two years of relevant experience in a similar electrical or technical role.
• Hold a valid driver’s license.
• Prior supervisory experience is not required.
