About the Position

Our Platform Portfolio located in Hamilton is expanding, and we seek a Software Engineering Lead to provide strong technical leadership, foster high-performing teams, and oversee the delivery of scalable, secure, reliable, and robust software solutions.

This pivotal leadership role focuses on guiding a defined engineering discipline within our Security Product environment. It combines hands-on technical guidance, team leadership, and responsibility for delivery success.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead a specific engineering discipline within the Platform Portfolio, offering technical direction around system design, architecture, delivery, risk management, quality, and lifecycle maintenance.
• Develop engineering capabilities via coaching, mentoring, setting clear expectations, delivering constructive feedback, planning growth, and supporting career advancement.
• Collaborate closely with Product, UX/UI Design, Architecture, Platform, DevOps, Security, and engineering teams to produce secure, scalable, and high-quality software.
• Guide teams in making informed technical decisions balancing delivery demands, quality assurance, risk, cost implications, compliance, and maintainability over time.
• Advocate for continuous enhancement, modern engineering standards, automation, and overall team productivity improvements.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate is either an experienced engineering leader or a senior engineer prepared to advance into leadership. You possess sound engineering judgment, an inquisitive nature, and confidence to navigate others through key technical decisions, prioritizing delivery and managing change effectively.

You thrive in uncertain environments, clarify work progress, eliminate obstacles, and enhance team predictability while fostering a culture where engineers can excel and develop professionally.

Your communication and collaboration skills are strong, enabling you to influence diverse technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Desired Qualifications and Experience

• Proven full-stack engineering expertise, exhibiting deep knowledge in a core area and capable of engaging across related systems and technological environments.
• Experience in leading, mentoring, and developing engineering personnel through clear guidance, feedback, and support mechanisms.
• Adeptness at balancing technical precision with practical delivery concerns, including quality, risk mitigation, cost efficiency, regulatory compliance, and sustainable maintenance.
• Excellent communication competence, collaboration skills, and an ability to influence multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders.
• A proactive mindset focused on continual improvement, curiosity about emerging tools, automation methods, standards, engineering approaches, and industry trends.
