Engineer/ Junior Manager/ Assistant Manager Mechanical

Job Overview

This role focuses on ensuring the maintenance, reliability, and operational availability of Over Head Plant (OHP) equipment like crushers and conveyors, along with Heavy Earth Moving Machinery (HEMM) to support safe, continuous mining and dispatch activities.

Primary Responsibilities

• Perform upkeep of OHP systems including crushers, screens, feeders, conveyors, and bulk material handling devices.
• Manage maintenance for HEMM fleet consisting of excavators, dumpers, dozers, loaders, graders, drills, and DG sets.
• Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance adhering to original equipment manufacturer (OEM) standards.
• Work towards maximizing equipment uptime and minimizing operational downtimes.
• Investigate equipment failures and drive initiatives for reliability enhancements.
• Ensure adherence to DGMS regulations, Mines Act, and established safety operating procedures.
• Coordinate critical spare parts planning and work closely with stores and materials departments.
• Lead and supervise mechanical personnel stationed on site.
• Maintain detailed maintenance logs, machine histories, and Management Information System (MIS) reports.

Qualifications & Experience

• Diploma, Degree, or Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) in Mechanical Engineering.
• Between 3 to 8 years of experience specifically in OHP or HEMM maintenance within mining environments.

Key Competencies

• Expertise in crushers, conveyors, and bulk material handling equipment maintenance.
• Proficient in managing maintenance of heavy earth moving machinery.
• Strong skills in maintenance scheduling and troubleshooting equipment breakdowns.
• Thorough knowledge and compliance with safety and statutory regulations, including DGMS.
• Familiarity with SAP Plant Maintenance (PM) or Materials Management (MM) modules is advantageous.
• Competence in documentation and generating MIS reports.
