Job Summary
We are looking for a seasoned and detail-focused Electrical Supervisor to oversee and inspect electrical installation activities on a significant site project in Dubai, UAE. This hands-on supervisory role demands comprehensive technical expertise in electrical systems, practical site supervision experience, and the capability to oversee daily installation operations to guarantee alignment with drawings, specifications, quality, safety, and project goals.
Responsibilities
- Manage daily electrical installation tasks ensuring conformity with approved designs, specifications, and method statements.
- Oversee electrical systems including medium/high voltage distribution, switchgear, transformers, generators, UPS, cable trays, containment, grounding, lighting, small power, panels, and associated installations.
- Perform and assist in site inspections to evaluate workmanship, progress, and adherence to quality standards.
- Coordinate activities and communications between contractors, subcontractors, engineers, consultants, QA/QC, HSE, commissioning teams, vendors, and project leaders.
- Review site activities, ensure alignment of manpower, materials, tools, and work fronts.
- Track contractor progress relative to schedules, sequences, and daily targets, addressing delays and issues.
- Identify and escalate installation complications, coordination gaps, access issues, safety hazards, and potential delays.
- Support preparation for inspections, ensuring works meet required quality and testing plans.
- Maintain compliance with inspection and test plans, quality protocols, and applicable codes.
- Enforce safety standards and promote safe working practices on site.
- Review and provide feedback on method statements, shop drawings, deliveries, inspection requests, test documentation, and cable schedules.
- Address technical queries, RFIs, design clarifications, and resolve site coordination challenges.
- Maintain comprehensive daily records covering progress, manpower, inspection results, issues, and observations.
- Contribute to progress reporting, punch lists, NCR management, testing records, and project closeout documentation.
- Manage interfaces with civil, structural, architectural, mechanical, ICT/ELV, controls, commissioning, and operational teams to ensure coordination.
- Support electrical system pre-commissioning, testing, energization, commissioning, handover, snagging, and closeout efforts.
- Promote a culture emphasizing safety, quality, accountability, and timely resolution of site matters.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 15 years’ experience in electrical supervision or construction management on large building, infrastructure, industrial, or mission-critical projects.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Strong expertise in supervising electrical installations and inspections on live construction sites.
- Comprehensive knowledge of electrical construction methods, installation workflows, inspection standards, and execution best practices.
- Hands-on experience with MV/LV power distribution, switchgear, transformers, generators, UPS, cabling, containment, grounding, lighting, small power, and panels.
- Ability to interpret electrical drawings, single-line and coordination diagrams, method statements, and technical documentation.
- Effective coordination skills with diverse project teams including contractors, consultants, QA/QC, HSE, commissioning, vendors, and management.
- Proficiency in tracking project progress, identifying potential delays, and supporting recovery measures.
- Well-versed in quality control, inspections, test procedures, NCR follow-up, punch list management, and project handover processes.
- Strong safety awareness and capability to enforce electrical site safety standards.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
- Meticulous attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks in dynamic construction environments.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience on data center, mission-critical, industrial, infrastructure, or large commercial projects.
- Previous professional engagements in Dubai, UAE, or the GCC region.
- Background in PMC, consultant, client-side supervision, or owner representation roles.
- Familiarity with UAE regulations, local construction codes, and international electrical standards.
- Knowledge of critical data center electrical infrastructure involving UPS, generators, grounding, LOTO, and commissioning protocols.
- Experience with project and document management software such as Aconex, Procore, Oracle Primavera Cloud, BIM 360, or equivalents.
- Familiarity with scheduling tools like Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project.
- Additional certifications in electrical safety, construction safety, QA/QC, or site supervision advantageous.
