Job description
Overview
This role is based at The Red Sea Project in Umluj, Saudi Arabia, reporting to the Section Head. The Electrical Engineer will oversee all maintenance activities for plant electrical systems, including preventive, corrective, and scheduled maintenance, ensuring operational efficiency and compliance with safety and environmental standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Assign and supervise preventive and corrective maintenance tasks under Section Head guidance, coordinate maintenance team activities, maintain detailed records, and prepare reports and correspondence.
- Execute maintenance work orders using the Computerized Maintenance Management System (SAP), liaise with planning engineers to ensure timely completion and resolve technical issues.
- Maintain communication channels to report status updates and ensure appropriate corrective actions are implemented promptly.
- Support the Maintenance Manager in deploying both corrective and planned maintenance aligned with the annual maintenance schedule.
- Evaluate technical quotations from purchases and advise on the most suitable options for procurement.
- Prepare purchase requisitions for spare parts and consumables within budget constraints and ensure strategic spares availability to meet maintenance demands.
- Review, update, and recommend improvements to maintenance procedures and work instructions.
- Supervise and coordinate the work of personnel within the assigned area, providing guidance and direction.
- Execute additional duties as delegated by management.
- Ensure Environmental Aspect-Impact and Hazard Risk Assessments are performed, controlled, and kept current.
- Implement, monitor, and report on Integrated Management System (IMS) objectives, targets, and programs.
- Provide necessary resources to effectively implement and maintain the IMS.
- Regularly report IMS performance to management and ensure compliance with legal requirements related to assigned activities.
- Identify root causes for non-conformances or deviations, implementing corrective and preventive measures.
- Assess competency gaps among subordinates and carry out suitable training interventions.
- Conduct annual performance evaluations of reporting employees.
- Ensure compliance with legal, contractual, and organizational obligations.
- Provide on-the-job training to new hires and assess their training progress.
- Identify, document, and control workplace hazards in the assigned area, monitoring operational controls for safety.
- Report deviations within the IMS, investigate root causes, and apply corrective and preventive actions.
- Report emergencies, incidents, and near misses promptly.
- Optimize resource use for efficient maintenance operations.
- Perform other duties assigned by management as required.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from a four-year college or university is required.
- Between 4 to 8 years of relevant experience and training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience is essential.
- Preference will be given to candidates with up to 10 years of related experience and training or comparable education and experience.
