Job description

Overview

We are looking for a Dispenser to join our pharmacy team in one of our retail locations across the UK, specifically Cardiff, Wales. In this part-time position, you will support pharmacists and healthcare professionals to deliver pharmacy and healthcare services safely and efficiently. This role requires working on-site in-store; remote applications are not considered.

Key Responsibilities

  • Dispense prescriptions accurately and ensure medicines are supplied safely, including ordering, labeling, endorsing, and managing collections.
  • Collaborate with pharmacists and healthcare colleagues to support pharmacy service operations.
  • Offer patients healthcare advice regarding their medications and refer complex queries to the pharmacist.
  • Adhere strictly to Standard Operating Procedures to maintain legal and safety standards in dispensing.
  • Stay informed about new innovations within the store and comply with operational protocols.
  • Assist patients in managing prescriptions effectively through repeat prescription services and promote medicine adherence to minimize waste.
  • Operate evolving in-store dispensing technologies to enhance patient safety and improve efficiency.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Completed NVQ Level 2 Pharmacy Advisor qualification or equivalent, or currently pursuing with completion of the first year of an MPharm degree.
  • Eligible to work in the UK without sponsorship; valid UK right to work status is mandatory.
  • Experience in community pharmacy practices is advantageous but not essential.
