Practice Group Overview

The Shareholder Advisory team offers a range of services including M&A advisory, activism preparation and defense, board governance, corporate governance advisory, proxy solicitation, capital markets intelligence, global debt and bondholder services, and stakeholder research.

Position Overview

The Sydney office is seeking a Director or Manager to join and support the increasing client base while maintaining market leadership.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide outstanding client management and ensure thorough execution of shareholder campaigns such as M&A, AGM, EGM, and ECM for Australian clients.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships to facilitate mandate renewals and expand engagement by promoting additional Sodali services.
  • Engage frequently with referral partners to support business development.
  • Prepare, review, and distribute campaign updates to clients, clearly communicating key findings during group discussions.
  • Create insightful and effective scripts for telephone-based shareholder engagement efforts.
  • Deliver efficient support to management and collaborate with other departments as needed.

Required Skills and Experience

  • At least 5 years of client relationship experience, or a minimum of 3 years for Manager level, preferably within capital markets consulting or advisory roles.
  • A bachelor’s degree in commerce, marketing, communications, or a related field.
  • Solid understanding of Australian capital markets.
  • Strategic thinker with a commercial mindset and a strong focus on execution.
  • Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
  • Self-motivated with a proactive, results-driven approach.
  • Ability to manage daily client work efficiently while prioritizing and organizing tasks effectively.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and familiarity with AI tools.
