About the Role

This opportunity is for an experienced Director of Finance located in the United States, charged with leading and evolving the finance function amidst significant organizational growth and transformation. The role demands both strategic leadership and practical operational involvement to establish scalable financial processes and systems.

Key responsibilities include enhancing financial reporting accuracy, ensuring compliance with relevant standards, forecasting, and supporting critical business decisions. The Director will collaborate closely with executive leadership and multiple teams to drive financial performance and foster long-term organizational growth.

Responsibilities

Guarantee the precision, completeness, and timeliness of financial reports while adhering to accounting standards and regulatory criteria.
Manage month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing operations, streamlining these processes and maintaining robust internal controls.
Coordinate interactions with auditors, financial institutions, regulators, tax bodies, and other external parties.
Deliver financial analysis and insights to guide executive decisions and strategic planning.
Oversee cash flow, accounts receivable/payable, and general finance operations.
Lead budgeting, forecasting, and performance evaluation activities.
Support management of capital, cost efficiency projects, and long-term financial strategies.
Ensure proper integration of new products and services into financial frameworks.
Conduct complex reconciliations among internal and external financial sources to maintain accuracy and compliance.
Recruit, mentor, and develop a high-performing finance team, fostering continuous improvement and operational excellence.
Develop and execute finance policies, scalable procedures, and internal controls.
Promote the use of automation, AI-driven solutions, and cutting-edge financial technology to enhance financial processes.
Collaborate across departments to align finance functions with broader business objectives.
Establish and monitor key financial indicators and produce executive performance reports highlighting risks and opportunities.

Requirements

Certified Public Accountant (CPA) credential with comprehensive knowledge of Canadian accounting standards and practices.
Minimum 10 years progressive experience in finance roles, including at least 5 years in senior leadership.
Proven ability to build and lead effective finance teams.
Expertise in financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, controls, and analytical evaluations.
Track record of optimizing finance operations through technology and process enhancements.
Experience implementing automation, AI tools, or advanced financial platforms to elevate efficiency and precision.
Strong strategic, analytical, and data-driven decision-making skills paired with excellent communication and stakeholder management.
Preferred experience in fintech, payments, SaaS, or tech-centric sectors.
Proven capacity to guide finance functions during phases of rapid organizational scaling and growth.
Ability to balance strategic leadership with direct hands-on execution in a fast-paced setting.
