Role Overview

The Design Assistant will provide essential support to the Bydee design team across multiple product categories, including swimwear, jewellery, and ready-to-wear. This role involves creating and updating design assets, assisting with technical documentation, and contributing to trend research and collaboration efforts.

Key Responsibilities

• Create and revise CADs, technical sketches, artwork briefs, and design packs following guidance from Senior Designers.
• Prepare initial hardware briefs and assist in designing custom trims.
• Manage seasonal range pages for all product categories.
• Support print and strike-off reviews by documenting feedback for Senior Designer approval.
• Assist with compiling design documents highlighting product features and benefits for cross-team use.
• Organize and maintain CAD libraries, design files, and seasonal documentation accurately.
• Keep seasonal folders, fabrics, trims, and sample libraries current and well-ordered.
• Prepare for meetings, take notes, and document updates from fittings and design reviews.
• Ensure critical path deadlines are met through precise and timely administrative support.
• Communicate design updates, artwork modifications, and print requirements effectively to suppliers and internal teams.
• Conduct trend and market research by sourcing imagery supporting emerging trends and design concepts.
• Assist in creating sourcing briefs and mood boards for the design team.
• Collaborate closely with Design, Product Development, and Production teams and maintain clear communication with suppliers.
• Provide general assistance across the wider Design team as needed.

Experience And Qualifications

• At least one year of experience in a Design Assistant or similar role within fashion design.
• Proficient with Adobe Creative Suite applications, especially Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign.
• Strong skills in CAD creation and technical sketching with keen attention to detail.
• Interest and basic understanding of garment construction, fabrics, trims, print techniques, and production processes.
• Excellent organisational abilities.
• Preferred qualification in Fashion Design, Textiles, or a related field.
