Role Overview

Primary Duties
- Deliver orders to customers within the assigned area while representing the store professionally.
- Handle telephone orders and process them accurately.
- Use equipment needed for store operations and support general team tasks.
- Move ingredients from the delivery area to storage, the work area, and the walk-in cooler, and help prepare products.
- Take inventory and complete related paperwork.
- Keep the equipment and workplace clean on a daily basis.
Requirements For Delivery Drivers
- Applicants must be at least 18 years old.
- A valid driver's license with a driving record that meets company standards is required.
- Candidates must have access to an insured vehicle that can be used for deliveries.
- Drivers should be comfortable reading maps, finding addresses, and navigating the assigned delivery area.
- The job also requires the ability to handle difficult terrain, including stairs and multi-story buildings.
Communication And Core Skills
- Be able to understand written instructions and follow them correctly.

Work Environment
- The role may involve outside work in changing or difficult weather conditions.
- Inside temperatures can range from about 36 degrees in coolers to 90 degrees or higher in some areas.
- Employees may face sudden temperature shifts, food odors, cornmeal dust, cramped spaces, hot surfaces, and moving parts.
- The work may include contact with sharp edges and equipment.
Physical Demands
- Most work is done while standing, with some short walking and sitting for paperwork.
- Team members may need to lift delivery supplies and ingredient cases weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Tasks can include carrying supplies, pushing or pulling tray dollies, climbing stairs or ladders occasionally, and repeated bending, crouching, and reaching.
- Frequent use of hands, forearms, and wrists is required for food preparation and equipment handling.
Driver Eligibility And Record Standards
- All drivers must have at least 2 years of licensed driving history in the United States.
- The applicant must be able to document that driving history.
- There must be at least 1.5 years of uninterrupted licensed driving history during the last 2 years, and the suspension cannot be at the beginning of that period.
- No more than 1 violation and 1 at-fault accident in the last 2 years.
- No more than 2 violations and 1 at-fault accident in the last 3 years.
- No more than 3 violations in the last 3 years.
- No more than 1 at-fault accident in the last 3 years.
- No distracted or inattentive driving violations in the last 3 years.
- No serious violations in the last 5 years, including drug or alcohol offenses, leaving the scene, failing to report an accident, reckless or careless driving, vehicular homicide, hit and run, speed contests, eluding police, false police reports, driving while suspended or unlicensed, or speeding 30 mph or more over the limit.
Vehicle Inspection Requirements
Any vehicle used for business deliveries must be inspected at the start of employment and periodically afterward under the supervision of the franchisee and store manager. Items checked include headlights, turn signals, tires, rear-view mirror, taillights or brake lights, brake pressure, windshield wipers, doors, backup lights, exhaust system, horn, and safety belt. A vehicle that fails inspection cannot be used for delivery work, and the driver remains responsible for keeping the vehicle safe and roadworthy.
