Job description
Role Summary
We are seeking a skilled Data Infrastructure Engineer to join our client’s team remotely on a full-time basis. In this role, you will be responsible for building and maintaining scalable data pipelines and infrastructure that support business intelligence and decision-making processes.
Responsibilities
- Create, enhance, and optimize scalable data pipelines for extraction, transformation, and loading of substantial datasets.
- Develop and sustain data warehouses and data lakes utilized for both analytical and operational reporting purposes.
- Partner with data scientists and analysts to guarantee accessibility and accuracy of data.
- Continuously monitor pipeline performance and swiftly troubleshoot any issues to uphold reliability and operational efficiency.
- Maintain clear and comprehensive documentation regarding data architecture, workflows, and standards for team usage and compliance.
Qualifications and Skills
- Proficient in SQL with practical experience handling both relational and NoSQL database systems.
- Experience working with ETL/ELT orchestration tools such as Apache Airflow, Apache Spark, or equivalent platforms.
- Strong understanding of data modeling techniques and principles of data warehouse design.
- Familiarity with cloud service providers including AWS, Google Cloud Platform, or Microsoft Azure tailored to data infrastructure purposes.
- Excellent problem solving capabilities focused on scalability and efficient system performance.
